About Darryl

As a tutor with a strong background in mathematics, I’m dedicated to helping students not only improve their grades but also build lasting confidence in their mathematical abilities. My approach is grounded in years of experience and academic excellence—I scored perfect on the PSAT/SAT Math section and achieved top scores on advanced placement exams in Calculus BC and Statistics.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is centered on breaking down complex mathematical concepts into manageable, understandable steps. I focus on drawing analogies between familiar ideas and new concepts, making learning more relatable and less intimidating. Whether it's through detailed explanations, visual aids, or custom problem sets, I tailor my lessons to meet each student's unique learning style and pace.

I believe in the power of visual learning, which is why I incorporate diagrams, graphs, and interactive elements into my lessons. This not only helps clarify abstract ideas but also engages students in a way that makes math more accessible and enjoyable.

When sharing my knowledge, I emphasize understanding the 'why' behind the methods. I encourage students to ask questions and think critically about the material, fostering a deeper comprehension rather than rote memorization.

A typical lesson plan would include defining the topic me and the student working on, deriving all of the formulas/techniques to show the student where they come from, and apply that logic to problem sets.

My course is for any secondary school level class(K-12th) and college students(anywhere from College Algebra to Calculus 2), may update later.
