About Sophia

My ethos for teaching is that I strongly believe that ANYONE is capable of achieving the top grades, and just with the right confidence, help and understanding they can achieve anything they want. Having been through the struggles of GCSEs and A-levels myself, where in year 12 I had come from a C in the first mocks to an A* in the second, I realised that improvement comes with a clear strategy and understanding in what you are learning. Hence, I intend to help those who are in the same position I had been so they can overcome the struggle without needing to figure it out the hard way. Experience: GCSEs in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Statistics. A-level in Mathematics. I look forward to meeting you for our lessons! :)

About the lesson

During my lessons, a student can expect to focus on overcoming their mathematical challenges and practising higher-level questions till mastery. I welcome those of any level to improvement, and do not believe in a 'naturally gifted' ability. With a subject like mathematics, the only factor preventing top grades is simply a matter of self-confidence. These lessons are for those studying the GCSE curriculum from ages 11-16. I also offer help in AS-level mathematics. A lesson typically lasts 1 hour and I offer a FREE first lesson or call to get to know one another so I can understand the student's expectations, strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the subject.
