About Tyrah
Hey there! So, I absolutely love Maths, and I love teaching Maths to young learners even more. My aim as a tutor is to teach Maths in such a way that I impart my enjoyment of the subject onto my students, by making the lessons as joyful and collaborative as possible. I believe the best way to learn Maths is to fully understand its mechanics; I endeavour to ensure that my learners come away from our lessons understanding the principles behind the questions we have looked at, rather than just how to turn the handle to produce the right answer. My other interests include learning languages, going to watch live music (I never left my emo phase!), freestyle step, indie movies and eating as much sushi as physically possible. :)

I have a degree in Mathematics and I am currently working as an actuary in the insurance industry as my primary job. I have tutored learners of various ages, from Year 2 up to Year 11. I offer 30, 45 and 60 minute sessions. I am more than happy to simply assist with homework or test papers, but I am also happy to discuss in advance the topics that are most tricky for you: we can go through some examples together, and spend time digging into why the answers are what they are! I am currently only offering online tutoring; I am happy to consider in-person tutoring on a case by case basis, however this would be at a higher hourly rate plus travel costs.
My current availability is:

Tuesdays 6pm
Thursdays 6pm
Ad-hoc weekend slots offered when available.
