About Alec
I have always been passionate about Mathematics, and I have always loved to work alongside other people while studying Maths. Whether it was in a group project at university or a study group at college, I have always enjoyed talking to other people about Maths, and especially when I feel like I can provide some help for them in the subject. This is what drove me to become a tutor.

My teaching approach focuses on giving the student a strong conceptual understanding of the material. I believe that students finding the content they are studying to be both interesting and challenging is the key to improvement. Due to this, I prefer my classes to be more discussion-based rather than lecture-based. Getting to know the student helps me to understand their strengths and weaknesses, enabling me to tailor my lessons to suit them individually.
I have achieved a bachelor's degree in Mathematics as well as A-levels in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with a grade of A in each. I have experience tutoring in the Shirebrook and Mansfield area for various STEM subjects.
Lessons are typically around an hour long, but this is flexible. Lessons are for all ages and are aimed at GCSE or A-level students.
