About Lara

- What kind of experience do you have?

I am currently a Data Analyst with very good Excel skills. I have experience tutoring Year 6 students as well as tutoring individual Year 10s - Year 13s (GCSE and A Level Students).
As a STEM ambassador I have taught schools in Gloucestershire.
I worked for InterHigh, an online high school so have experience with delivering lessons online.

STEM Ambassador with over 30 hours of teaching volunteered this year so far.

I teach a full variety of students of all ages and abilities.

I am a tutor in the Abergavenny/Crickhowell area, willing to give lessons from my home or come to you. I am happy to tutor from ages 9+. I offer specific exam based tutoring for GCSE and A Levels also.

I believe in a positive learning environment driven with communication at the heart of it and I ensure learners get my full, focused attention. I usually spend the first lesson getting to know you and your learning needs and then lessons will be geared towards achieving your goals. However, I also offer a short test to understand your level if this is something that wouldn't be too pressured for the student.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach Maths and Further Maths, with knowledge in sciences up to GCSE level if a student had any questions in these topics.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a 2:1 bachelor's degree in Mathematics from The University of Bath. I am a STEM ambassador, and have taught in a few schools in Gloucestershire as an Ambassador. I have tutored in many local schools as well as privately tutoring children of friends and work colleagues.

- How much do you charge?

I charge £20 for an hour long session and £10 for a half hour. The online rates are cheaper at £13 per hour. I am flexible with timings, session lengths and prices where necessary so please feel free to inquire!

- Where do you teach?

I will teach from my home in Gilwern. Alternatively, I am willing to travel to your home within a reasonable distance. Please ask if I can travel to your home and the prices this will incur.

- When are you available?

I am available all hours with only a few exceptions so please inquire for your desired time.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach from primary to end of A Levels.
