About Laiba
My name is Laiba Ali and I am a dedicated Maths tutor based in Birmingham, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.
Throughout my academic journey, Mathematics has been my greatest passion. My degree gives me a deep understanding of the subject well beyond the level I teach which allows me to explain even the most challenging topics clearly and confidently. I do not simply repeat what a teacher has already said; I find fresh ways to break down difficult concepts so that students truly understand rather than just memorise.
I take my role seriously. I am punctual, well-prepared for every lesson and committed to tracking each student's progress over time. I set clear, achievable goals and work consistently to reach them. Parents can feel confident their child is in safe, capable and caring hands.
I understand the pressure students face, especially around important exams like GCSE and O-Level. I bring patience, encouragement and a genuine desire to see every student succeed — whether they are struggling with the basics or aiming for the very top grades.

My name is Laiba and I am a qualified Maths tutor based in Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.
I have a genuine passion for Maths and I believe that every student can succeed with the right support, patience and encouragement. I understand that many students find Maths stressful or confusing, so I create a calm, friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions without hesitation.
How I Teach
I begin every new student with a short assessment to understand their current level, strengths and weak areas. I then plan each lesson around the individual student, not a one-size-fits-all approach. I use a step-by-step method, breaking down difficult topics into simple, easy-to-understand stages. I use practice questions, past papers and visual examples to make sure the student truly understands before moving forward.
Lesson Details
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, though 90-minute sessions are available for students who need more intensive preparation before exams. Lessons can be conducted face-to-face in Birmingham or online via Zoom or WhatsApp whatever suits the family best.
Who I Teach
My lessons are suitable for:
- Primary school children aged 7 and above
- KS3 students aged 11–14
- GCSE students aged 14–16
- O-Level students following Pakistani or Cambridge curriculum
- Any adult learner wishing to improve their Maths confidence
Languages
I teach comfortably in both English and Urdu, which is a great advantage for Pakistani and South Asian families who want their child to fully understand the subject without any language barrier.
