About Benjamin
I am a Master's student at the London School of Economics studying Applicable Mathematics and currently conducting research in graph theory and polyhedral theory. As well as part-time tutoring, I work part-time as a mathematics specialist at an AI training company, and make Excel spreadsheets for film companies! Although I now deeply enjoy and understand the subject, maths didn’t always come naturally to me when I was younger—so I fully understand what it’s like to find it challenging. This means I can relate both to students who struggle and those who are passionate and want to go further. Outside of academics, I’m a keen sportsman and bring that same enthusiasm and commitment to every lesson.

As a passionate tutor, I focus on developing deep understanding rather than encouraging rote memorisation. My lessons are highly interactive, tailored to each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning style, with an emphasis on real-world intuition to make abstract concepts more relatable. I regularly use past paper questions alongside custom-written problems designed to target specific topics at the right level of challenge. A typical session lasts an hour and a half but can be adjusted to suit the student’s needs. I’ve taught students aged 6 to 19, and have particular experience tutoring GCSE and A-level Maths and Further Maths students, helping learners of all abilities—whether they’re catching up or striving for top grades or even learning early numeracy! With a First-Class Mathematics degree (80%) and current MSc study at LSE, I offer both academic rigour and a friendly, encouraging approach.

Ben is a charming and charismatic young man who puts everyone immediately at their ease. Whatever he turns his hand to he makes it a fun and enjoyable experience for all those around him. He is very thorough and this combined with his patience and expertise would benefit all levels of tutelage. I can’t recommend him highly enough .
Benjamin is one of the most enthusiastic and high achieving mathematicians I have met over a career spanning business, economics and finance. And perhaps unusually for a mathematician, he is also a gifted and empathetic communicator who reads people well and engages with them. He was a great fit for my son at A Level, bringing the curriculum to life for him with an easy sense of humour. Highly recommended.
Benjamin has tutored two of my children in maths, both of whom subsequently got into Russell Group universities. He is professional,
patient and passionate about mathematics. I cannot recommend him highly enough. As a non-mathematician myself, Ben opened my eyes to how applicable maths can be in every aspect of life. This outlook paired with his pure passion for the subject, I believe, is what will truly take him far in this space.
In terms of his tutoring ability, acting not only as a tutor, but a mentor, he guided my younger brother to achieve the number 1 A-level grade in his year group and is now laying down the same pathway for my sister as she prepares for her GCSE’s.
I couldn’t recommend this kind, caring young man enough to any prospective tutees/parents.Ben is a great teacher! He explains things super clearly on a level that his students can understand and helped massively with my maths confidence. Thank you Ben!
Ben is a kind patient, and encouraging individual with a breadth of knowledge to share and a wonderful way of explaining things
