About Taylor
I am a maths student nearing a double A.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science whose been tutoring students since High School. My most recent maths courses were Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Calculus III. Previously having been a physics student, my most recent physics class has been Physics for Scientists and Engineers II. I've privately taught a few students recently in college and more in public settings, who's grades and understanding of their subjects greatly improved. My last student was failing Calculus II until I helped her pass the rest of her tests with A's and B's.

I usually teach college students, though I am open to younger learners as well. The first thing I do is establish what my student already knows and question them on their understanding. I would rather them guess than say, "I don't know," as to affirm their misconceptions to better fix them. Once the misconceptions are known to me, I demonstrate a contradiction based on their beliefs. After they realize their mistake, I go through the process of finding the right solution. I then have them try a similar problem on their own, guiding them with hints when they stumble. I employ YouTube and other modern technology to help them grasp big subjects such as, "What is the number e?" and have them describe it in their own words to me afterward. I believe a clear understanding of the big subjects and how they relate is key to solving any problem.
