My name is Shae Delany! I am a college student at Claremont McKenna College currently studying for an undergraduate degree in mathematics. I am dedicated to helping students achieve their goals with professionalism, empathy, and a results-driven approach. I use a combination of visual aids, real-life applications, and interactive activities to make math engaging and relatable. To ensure comprehension, I break down complex topics into manageable steps and encourage students to ask questions freely. A Typical Lesson Plan: Start with a quick review of previous lessons or a fun math riddle to engage the student, then introduce the new topics using relatable examples. We will then have guided practice problems, explaining each step in detail. We will then allow the student to solve problems on their own, and offering guidance as needed. Homework or extra practice can be used to reinforce the learning, but is optional. What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor: I tailor each lesson to the student’s pace, strengths, and areas for improvement. I create a supportive environment that makes students feel comfortable and motivated to learn. I emphasize the practical applications of math to make it relevant and engaging. Who the Lessons Are For: My lessons are designed for elementary school students covering foundational topics like arithmetic, fractions, geometry, and basic problem-solving. My lessons are also designed for middle school students studying more advanced topics such as pre-algebra, ratios, and percentages.
