About Jeffery

Like many students, I struggled with learning during different times growing up, especially with mathematics. As a High School student, I discovered both my love for learning and my talent at helping other people learn. I started my own tutoring program at 15 years old, and as an underdog student who was never in the fast track of courses such as honors courses, proved that everyone deserves an opportunity to learn. I ultimately finished my high school experience by taking every mathematics class offered, often doubling up to catch up with my peers. Not only that, but I won every award of the classes when I caught up with my peers. My impact was recognized by the school with a special award for my dedication to the mathematics department, where I helped the teachers improve tests scores and students pass their classes.

Fast forward to present day, I have a combined 20 years of experience working with students in mathematics and other subject areas. I obtained my degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Elementary Education and graduated with my teaching license with 7 endorsement areas as I entered the public education field.

As a professional, I have been recognized by my colleagues and students alike, being selected teacher of the year at two separate schools and being selected as Star Teacher by the top performing ACT student. As a result of helping all students, from the bottom to the top, I have also been selected as a teacher of greatest impact by a special needs student.

About the lesson

My teaching method includes techniques to help students understand the content in a perspective that fits them. I use my experience and knowledge in educational psychology and curriculum development to help each student master the content. If there are prerequisite skills that are needed for a student to be more successful, I will identify those skills and help with those also.
