About Michał

I have a master deegre in mathematics obtained on Uniwersytet Wrocławski. I finished studies with grade 5.0 on a scale 2.0-5.0. Do not ask why it starts from 2, I also don't know. In the end of those studies I also passed polish actuarial exam. After them I went to work in a bank. After 2 years I was pretty sure that corpo life is not my way through life. Started teaching math in 2015. Went pro by opening a sole proprietorship in 2018. Went online when covid started. And I pretty much like the place that I am right now.

But what can be better than new challenges? I like to travel abroad where I always speak in english. I often watch youtube videos in english, read in english. So why not to teach math in english? My students in Poland have made nice progress in a time of our cooperation. One person improved from 4 to 6 in a scale 1-6 in mathematics. And also got grade 6 from phisics and informatics. Another person went from 10 % on a trial final exam to 90% on a real final exam. And many others who made progress in school grades but also in their attitude towards learning. So I see this as a good reason to open my skills for people all around the world. In a time where flat earth is seriously discussed topic we need more people who will have better understanding how science works. My opened for questions and doubts approach to discuss scientific stuff gets students involved in what they learn. It helps change the attitude of "I have to pass this exam somehow" to "I want to excel in this because it's interesting". And it works.

PS. Every year I have around 40 permanent students and also many smaller cooperations. I do it for 6 years now so I worked with hundreds of students.

Hi! I'm a guy from Poland who teaches math in my country since 2015 and via internet since covid. Surprisingly people seem to prefer my internet lessons over those face to face. So be it. Now I sit in home all days and explain different topics in this beautiful part of knowledge for people from every corner in Poland. And I begin to wonder if it will work for the rest of the world? Well, let's check!

My style of teaching is based on student needs. I always start with question "Do you have any question or exercise you couldn't solve on your own?" If not we procede to the subject. I have my own materials; I can also work with student's materials. We just send each other photos by messenger and then we go. I have graphics tablet which I use to write in Microsoft OneNote. Of course student can see it because I'm always using platforms with screen sharing. Exactly I use Skype or Clickmeeting whichever student prefers.

My seeing of math teaching is that the more you understand by yourself the better. Which means I tend to not give exact answers to every question. Rather tips that help to find it out. Of course, after some time when I know student better I am more aware of what he or she is capable of. Then sometimes I give those tips, sometimes I just go straight to the solution.

Also very important for me is fun. To learn math you just need to solve exercises. Practice is everything. But it takes time and effort. And sometimes it's not easy to find them. It's easier if you like it. I always liked math. And now I'm trying to pass this passion to math to those young people. Show them how entertaining it can be. And how rewarding it becomes when you start to understand. I know, not everyone likes and will ever like math. But I have this luck that many of my students started to at least not complain about the fact that they have to learn it. And many found pleasure in it.

About 80% of my students are from polish high school. In American system it would be classes 9-12. There are also some younger mostly 6-8. And there are also some students from polytechnic or economy who also have some math like calculus, algebra, probability and statistics. For them we always have to discuss their expectations about material because I know my limits of what I am able to teach and that's where those limits are.

I think I explained pretty much. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask. If you're interested in test lesson just contact me.

Best regards :)
