About Jonathan

Hello! my name is Jonathan, I am a Mathematics student at Durham University.
>I have always loved maths and find the subject's underlying principles and more generally the beauty of it far more interesting than learning formulae or memorisation, which I try and bring into my lessons.
>I have just spent the last 7 or 8 years getting to know what the UK mathematics system wants from students. I have always paid close attention to what the examiners and mark schemes actually give marks for, something often overlooked in school lessons.
>Being fresh out of school I am in a prime position to pass on this knowledge to those who wish to improve their grade.
So then, as a keen mathematics student trying to combine interest, deeper understanding and exam readiness, I would be delighted to tutor any students who want me to.

About the lesson

>Lessons will be built around gaining familiarity with common methods and underlying principles as opposed to memorisation or relentless repetition.

>I am a firm believer in the use of practice problems and past paper questions for improvement of understanding and acquisition of better marks.

>The length of our lessons will usually be 30m-1h depending on the preference of the student, though this is open if longer lessons are requested.

>I have experience teaching both English and international
students across various exam boards, and will be able to
adjust and tweak lessons to the specific exam board and tutee.

>I am flexible in my style and willing to cater to any other preferences or needs of the student.
