About Joe

I'm Joe. I'm a math graduate and tutor. The reason I tutor is because I enjoy math and I love helping people learn and improve. I get great satisfaction when I help a student understand something which initially seemed impossible. I ensure my lessons are right in the sweet spot of not too easy and not too challenging. I like to focus on topics students aren't comfortable with. I believe building up your weakest areas of knowledge is the most effective way of learning and improving.

About the lesson

I like to make my lessons specific to each individual student and their goals. I always have a conversation with my students before the lesson about what they'd like to improve on as well as how they like to learn. Lessons can be stopped at any point for questions and there is no pressure to get answers correct the first time around, it's all about improving. I've tutored both in person and online for just over a year now and have classroom experience, as I used to work as a teaching assistant. I've taken students who were failing to a pass level grade, as well as students who were floating somewhere around the middle to top level grades. My lessons are typically between 1-2 hours in duration, for students between the ages of 10-16.
