About Craig
My fascination with mathematics began at a young age, drawn to its elegant patterns, problem-solving challenges, and the clarity it brings to complex ideas. I pursued an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, gaining expertise in both theoretical concepts and practical applications, which prepared me to teach students at varying levels with confidence and skill. Over 13 years of tutoring, I have worked with learners from diverse backgrounds, helping them transform hesitation into understanding, and uncertainty into intellectual curiosity and confidence.
I believe that learning mathematics is most effective when students actively engage with concepts rather than passively memorize rules. My approach emphasizes guided exploration, hands-on problem-solving, and real-world application, allowing students to see the relevance and beauty of each concept. I adapt lessons to individual learning styles and goals, ensuring that each student progresses at a pace that promotes understanding, mastery, and long-term retention.
Outside the classroom, I continue to explore mathematical research, applications in technology, finance, and scientific modeling. Teaching mathematics is deeply rewarding because I witness students grow in analytical thinking, resilience, and confidence. Helping learners see mathematics not as an intimidating subject but as an empowering tool is the most fulfilling part of my work.

Mathematics becomes truly engaging when students see patterns, logic, and problem-solving as interconnected tools rather than isolated topics. My lessons focus on building a strong foundation in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, probability, and statistics, ensuring that each concept is clearly understood and practically applicable. I use step-by-step explanations, visual illustrations, interactive exercises, and real-world examples to help learners connect abstract theories to tangible scenarios. Every session encourages exploration, experimentation, and independent reasoning, while fostering confidence in tackling complex problems.
For advanced learners, lessons expand to multivariable calculus, linear algebra, optimization, and applied mathematical modeling. I guide students in developing systematic approaches to problem-solving, breaking down complicated questions into manageable steps, and verifying solutions critically. Practice exercises, structured problem sets, and iterative feedback are integrated into every lesson to ensure consistent progress and long-term understanding. Lessons are tailored to student goals, whether preparing for academic examinations, competitive assessments, or personal mastery, emphasizing conceptual clarity alongside practical application.
Mathematics instruction also nurtures critical thinking, patience, and analytical reasoning. Many learners discover that enhanced problem-solving skills strengthen their confidence across disciplines and in daily decision-making. My goal is to empower students to not only succeed academically but also cultivate a lifelong curiosity and appreciation for the logical beauty and problem-solving power that mathematics provides.
