About Carly

My passion for mathematics started with curiosity about patterns, structures, and logical relationships. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I explored theoretical reasoning and applied problem-solving. Over 10 years of teaching, I have helped students of varied skill levels gain clarity, confidence, and a structured approach to mathematical thinking. I prioritize understanding each student’s learning style and pace. Many learners struggle due to gaps in foundational knowledge rather than inability. I focus on identifying these gaps and building understanding step by step, using multiple approaches, examples, and visual explanations. I encourage students to ask questions and think critically, fostering independent reasoning. Outside teaching, I continue engaging with mathematics through applied modeling, research reading, and problem-solving challenges. Teaching mathematics is deeply rewarding because I witness students grow from uncertainty to mastery, gaining the confidence to reason logically and tackle complex problems effectively in both academic and real-life contexts.

About the lesson

Mathematics becomes intuitive when students grasp the underlying logic rather than treating problems as isolated tasks.
