About Ivy
My passion for mathematics is rooted in a lifelong fascination with patterns, logic, and problem-solving. I pursued an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, specializing in algebra, geometry, modeling, and analytical methods. Over 11 years, I have guided students from elementary school math through middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math, helping them cultivate analytical skills, confidence, and independent thinking. I teach with patience, clarity, and flexibility, adapting lessons to each learner’s pace, style, and goals. I employ visual aids, real-world examples, and structured explanations to make abstract concepts accessible. Encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, and logical reasoning is central to my teaching philosophy. Learners progress to middle school math, exploring fractions, percentages, ratios, introductory algebra, and geometry with structured exercises and visual examples. Lessons emphasize analytical reasoning, stepwise thinking, and application of concepts to build confidence and understanding.
Intermediate lessons focus on linear equations, functions, coordinate geometry, multi-step word problems, and logical reasoning. I also integrate SAT math strategies, teaching problem interpretation, time management, and structured solution methods. Exercises reinforce analytical thinking, reasoning, and application, preparing students for academic assessments and practical scenarios.
Advanced lessons cover higher-order algebra, geometric proofs, mathematical modeling, and data interpretation. Students explore multiple solution paths, justify reasoning, and apply concepts to new contexts.
