About Gautham
Hi, my name is Gautham, and I am passionate about helping others excel in maths. I am keen to help students, because I found such help immensely useful to me when in school, and applying to university, and wish to give back.
I genuinely enjoy tutoring others, as breaking down concepts even helps me gain further understanding of mathematical ideas. Moreover, tutoring is enjoyable due to the ability to interact with another, and I take joy and pride in seeing a student's progress.

My lessons are completely driven by the needs of students; whatever they struggle with, I aim to refine. I teach through enforcing understanding, then through carefully selected examples. The lessons are anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours long.
My experience includes:
- Working as a Maths Ambassador for the Maths Department at the University of Cambridge; here I was able to offer help to students tackling tricky STEP problems. I also offered mock interviews to prospective students, during which I was required to guide them through tricky problems through well-placed hints, in order to assist, but not entirely solve, the problems for them.
- Providing mock interviews for students at Cambridge Maths School; I adapted a similar approach of bread-crumbing hints in order to help students work their way through difficult problems.
- Providing maths mentoring for GCSE students whilst in sixth-form.
My qualifications are:
- In my GCSEs I earned 10 grade 9s across: Maths, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Religious Studies, History, Geography, English Language, English Literature, French.
- In my A-Levels, I earned 4 A* grades in Maths, Further Maths, History, Economics.
- I currently read Mathematics as an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge.
