About Adar
Hi, I'm Adar! I'm currently studying Mathematics at the University of Bristol, and I tutor GCSE Maths and Physics, plus A-Level Maths and Further Maths.
I got A* in both Maths and Further Maths at A-Level, a top 2% worldwide score on the TMUA, and an S,1 in Cambridge's STEP exam, and every student I've tutored Maths and Physics has gone on to get a grade 9 or an A*. I put that down to actually explaining things properly rather than just drilling past papers.
When I'm not doing maths, I'm usually playing the flute or out on my bike — I think having other things going on outside of a subject actually makes you better at teaching it, since you remember what it's like to be a beginner at something.
I'm reliable, patient, and genuinely enjoy teaching. I'd love to help you get there too.

My approach to tutoring centres on complete understanding over memorisation. Rather than teaching students to recognise "question types" and pattern-match their way through past papers, I focus on building a genuine grasp of the underlying concepts. This means that when an unfamiliar or tricky question comes up in an exam, students aren't thrown off — they can reason through it confidently instead of relying on rote recall.
In practice, this looks like breaking topics down to first principles, working through problems step-by-step together, and using targeted past-paper practice to build both understanding and exam technique. I adjust my pace and explanations to each student's level, and I regularly check understanding throughout the lesson rather than just at the end, so nothing gets missed.
Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, though this can be adjusted depending on the student's needs and the topic being covered.
In terms of experience, I'm currently studying Mathematics at the University of Bristol, having achieved A* in Maths and Further Maths at A-Level, a top 2% worldwide score on the TMUA, and an S,1 in Cambridge's STEP exam. I've tutored GCSE Maths and Physics as well as A-Level Maths and Further Maths, and every student I've tutored for GCSE Maths and Physics has gone on to achieve a grade 9.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE and A-Level students (roughly ages 14–18) studying Maths, Further Maths, or Physics — whether you're aiming to build a solid foundation, catch up on missed topics, or push for the top grades.
