About Jonathan
I have been teaching for 20 years and tutoring for most of them. I trained in Music and have a very creative approach to teaching Maths. I have tutored 50+ children and young people and all of them have been satisfied with the outcome, whether they rise from a grade 3 to a grade 4, or from a grade 7 to a grade 9!

I use the first session to highlight which areas the student considers are strong or weak. I then dig deeper to find out if the barriers are due to confidence, interest, engagement and/or ability by setting example questions and moving from structured help to independent work. I am happy to set homework between sessions or to make myself available online during critical exam periods.

Details
I do not make an additional charge for travelling to your home, but expect students/parents to be flexible in the length of the sessions to make it worth my while. For example, I would expect to deliver 2 hour sessions if required to travel more than 10 miles each way. This is negotiable and I am happy to charge for travel instead if this is preferred.
My charge of £50ph is for GCSE tuition at peak times. I may be open to negotiating this price downwards for younger students or for tutoring during the day. I also offer benefits for 'word of mouth' referrals (e.g. additional free lesson/discount to referrer).
