About Umme Tasfia

I am a passionate educator currently pursuing an MSc in Education (Mathematics Education) at the University of Bristol. I have several years of teaching experience working with students from different age groups, both in classroom settings and through individual tutoring.

Previously, I worked as a teacher at Scholastica School, where I taught Mathematics and supported students across various subjects. I also worked as a Teaching Assistant, assisting in business and accounting-related courses. These experiences helped me develop strong communication skills and an understanding of how to support students with different learning needs.

I have also worked closely with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) for an extended period, which taught me the importance of patience, encouragement, and personalised learning strategies.

My goal as a teacher is to make learning clear, engaging, and confidence-building. I enjoy helping students understand difficult concepts step by step and supporting them in achieving their academic potential.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to be clear, interactive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I begin by understanding the student’s current level, learning style, and academic goals. This helps me plan lessons that focus on strengthening their understanding step by step.

During the lesson, I explain concepts using simple language, real-life examples, and visual tools such as digital whiteboards and structured notes. After introducing a concept, we work through practice questions together so the student can apply what they have learnt and build confidence.

I also encourage students to ask questions and actively participate, as this helps deepen their understanding and problem-solving skills. At the end of each lesson, we review key ideas and identify areas that may need further practice.

My goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and confident in improving their academic performance.
