About Shaun
I’m passionate about maths and I love it when a student really understands something. I have a first in mathematics from the University of Plymouth. During this time I gave presentations, explained difficult concepts to my peers and even led part of a lecture. I am familiar with and use LaTeX which I use for making lessons and homework. At the University of Leeds (second degree) I was the international secretary for the Christian Union. As such I honed my communication skills as I often had to find different ways of explaining ideas and concepts that were strange to my new friends. If a student doesn't understand something, I'll be able to find out what they don't understand, and then I'll be able to explain it to them.

A lesson, typically around an hour, includes the fundamentals and some practice questions. I also like to focus on proof and derivations, which helps develop your reasoning skills and gives you a deeper understanding of things we’ve derived or proven. For example, I will explain that a radian is the angle made when the arc length of a circle is the same length as its radius. Then together we will discover that there are 2 Pi radians in a circle. I do this by using an online teaching platform called scribblar which allows us to share a whiteboard. Whether we’re doing a proof or answering a question, you and I will be doing it together. I can also set tailor-made homework if requested! My lessons are for GCSE and A-level students or casual adult learners.

He takes the time to understand the learner. His lessons are thoroughly planned and highly organized.A very patient tutor who takes pride in seeing others understand Maths concepts and be able to apply them. Would highly recommend him.
I needed to learn about sequences, and how Shaun explained it really helped me, there was a time for practice as well so I could apply what I had learned. You can notice he masters Maths and knows how to teach in a very friendly environment. I recommend him.
