The strengths I possess that support high academic expectations for all students are as follows.
I will set up a system of high expectations for all my students in the classroom. I will expect all students to achieve and to work hard. I will not give up on any individual child. If a child needs additional help to succeed I will make myself available to provide that time. At STEP Charter School I ran math tutorials after school every Thursdays for the kids who needed additional help.
I will start with a clear and well thought out lesson plans. These lesson plans will help me keep the class focus, organized and on-task. These plans will address the different learning abilities of my students in a diverse environment.
I will keep my kids engaged in the learning process and continually ask questions and check for understanding. I will strive to keep the entire class engaged in learning not just a few students. My lesson plans will include activities that will keep the students interested and excited about math. I will develop strong relationships with my students. I will continually try to motivate them to perform their best in school.
I will also be accessible to parents and meet and communicate with parents frequently. I will utilize the help of parents whenever necessary to keep their children focused on education. I will convince them that I have the interest of their kid in what I do every day in the classroom.
I am very good at mathematics and I am excited about teaching math. I will continue to present this material in an as enthusiastic way as possible.
