About Alexander
I was recently awarded my PhD in Mathematics from UCL and have nearly 5 years of experience in teaching at the undergraduate level across three academic institutions, namely UCL, King's College London and the University of Sydney. I have also been giving private tuition in pre-university maths since I started university in Australia in 2011.

My lessons in A-level and undergraduate maths are student-focused and aim to foster a deeper understanding of the material and develop the ways of thinking required to solve problems. Classes typically begin with a lesson plan being developed in collaboration with the student, based on their current understanding of the subject matter and what they would like to develop, as well as my suggestions for what might be useful based on this. This can involve anything from a wide-ranging overview of the topic and the motivations for studying it, to step-by-step outlines of useful methods and specific problems to work through.
