About Laila
I’m a friendly and passionate tutor with a strong background in education and emotional wellbeing. I have a degree in Sociology, work full-time as a Year 5 SEN Teaching Assistant, and am currently training to become a CPCAB-qualified therapist. My experience working with children aged 5–11, including those with special educational needs, has taught me the importance of patience, empathy, and adapting my approach to suit each individual. I love making learning fun, meaningful, and confidence-boosting—whether that’s through creative phonics games, supporting with reading fluency, or building maths skills step by step. I’m passionate about supporting young people both academically and emotionally, and I take real pride in helping them reach their full potential.

My approach to tutoring is warm, patient, and tailored to each child’s unique needs. I use a mix of visual, verbal, and hands-on techniques to make lessons engaging and accessible, especially for young learners and those with additional needs. I create a calm, supportive environment where children feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, and build confidence. Lessons are typically 45–60 minutes long and are aimed at children aged 5–11 (KS1 & KS2), including those with SEN. I tutor core primary subjects such as Maths, Phonics, and Reading. I’m a Sociology graduate, currently working as a Year 5 SEN Teaching Assistant.
