About Crispin
[I'm currently fully booked - but please feel free to enquire if you are interested in occasional sessions or would like to know if a slot becomes available.] I spent most of my school years as a straight As kind of student informally tutoring my friends and classmates. I am enthusiastic about a range of study goals, learning styles and communication styles. Rather than trying to impose one way of doing things, I prefer to tutor by working with you to build on your existing strengths and knowledge, so that at every stage you can feel confident that you know what you know, rather than never quite being sure whether you've got the answer you want or not. Whether you simply want to improve your ability to correctly apply the prescribed methods on your curriculum, or whether you wish to develop your understanding of the core principles that underpin the methods and interrelate your subject with many others, I look forward to working with you in realising your full potential. I'm currently piecing together a freelance career having recently completed a 2.5 year career break (a great privilege! including completing a long overdue mathematics degree with the Open University, and also foraying into all sorts of spiritual and meditative practices), having previously worked at world-leading electronics company ARM for nearly 10 very stimulating years in a variety of technical and non-technical roles across the company (including software engineering, customer training, technical support for customers' engineers, special projects, graduate recruitment and diversity & inclusion: focusing on improving female employees' experiences working in a male dominated industry).
