About Debra
Hi, I’m Debbie. I’m a business owner, lifelong learner, and passionate advocate for the idea that it’s never too late to learn something new.
Although maths wasn’t my career path, I recently returned to studying mathematics as an adult and discovered just how much I enjoy it. Working through topics from first principles has given me a fresh perspective on the challenges many students face and the importance of clear, straightforward explanations.
Outside of tutoring, I run my own successful dog training and behaviour business, where teaching, communication, and adapting to different learning styles are part of my everyday life. I also compete in figure skating, which has taught me the value of persistence, resilience, and breaking big goals into manageable steps.
I believe that confidence is often the biggest barrier to success in maths. My aim is to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their understanding at their own pace.
