About Sydney J
My name is Sydney and I work as a Maths Tutor for two London Boroughs, as well as work in Health and Wellbeing as a facilitator for a well-known UK charity. In my free time I am the Director of a start-up for a youth-based mental health organisation, and also help young people with understanding their money. I also have a YouTube which focuses on Mental Health, Wellbeing and Spirituality. I am very energetic and enthusiastic, and tend to work with the underlying root causes of low self-esteem and low confidence first when I teach, as I believe that these are usually the biggest barriers to understanding maths and other life skills.

I have a person-centred approach to teaching individuals. I feel that it's important to ensure that the student feels that they are in a safe space and environment where they feel comfortable and welcomed. I have resources, Schemes of Work for: . Functional Skills (Entry Level) . Functional Skills Maths (L1 & L2) . GCSE Maths . Further Maths (Enquire for more information) I have taught in schools, councils, offices and online since 2021, with a wealth of knowledge in Maths, Counselling, Mentoring, Tutoring, Job Coaching and Facilitation in various subjects. My lessons can range from 45 minutes - 3 hours. Please contact me for further information. I teach students from KS2 (age 7/8) upwards. I was tutored by Sydney at the end of last year for an apprenticeship and I needed to complete Functional Skills Maths in order to complete the apprenticeship successfully. Very efficient, enthusiastic and compassionate, and was very patient as I had a fear of maths haha! Needless to say I passed!
