About Somya

Hi, I’m Somya, and I’m a Computer Science graduate with 4+ years of experience teaching students. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students with different learning styles and abilities, and that experience has taught me that good teaching is not just about explaining a topic—it’s about understanding the student as well.

I genuinely enjoy teaching Math because I like seeing the moment when a student goes from “I don’t understand this” to “Oh, now I get it!” That is what motivates me to keep teaching and sharing what I know.

I want my classes to be a place where students can ask questions without hesitation, learn from their mistakes, and build confidence step by step. I don't expect every student to learn at the same speed, so I try to give individual attention and adjust my explanations according to their needs.

Along with teaching the syllabus, I focus on strong fundamentals, regular practice, doubt-solving and consistent assessment. My weekly tests and progress reports help us understand what is going well and what needs more work.

For me, a successful class isn't just one where I finish a chapter. It’s when the student finishes the class feeling more confident than when they started.

About the lesson

I have been teaching students for 4+ years, and one thing I’ve learned is that every student understands Math differently. So, instead of rushing through chapters or asking students to simply memorize formulas, I focus on making sure they actually understand what they are doing and why.

My classes are friendly and interactive. I first explain the concept in a simple way, solve a few questions with the student, and then give them questions to try on their own. We also spend time on doubts, mistakes, and topics where the student is struggling, rather than just moving ahead with the syllabus.

I also believe that regular testing is important. That's why I take weekly tests based on the topics covered and share a weekly progress report. This helps me see where the student is improving and where they need more attention. It also gives parents a clear idea of how their child is performing instead of relying only on exam marks.

My classes are for students up to Class 10, whether they want to improve their basics, perform better in school exams, or simply become more confident in Math.

I want my students to feel that Math is something they can understand and solve, not something they have to be afraid of.
