About Jonathan

I’m a mathematics student with a genuine passion for helping others understand and enjoy math.

I hold a Level 6 qualification in Mathematics and am currently continuing my studies towards an Honors Degree in Mathematics. I am just one module away from completing my Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, and I’m keen to use the knowledge and experience I’ve gained throughout my studies to help students develop their own mathematical skills and confidence.

I understand that math can sometimes feel difficult or frustrating, especially when a student feels that they are falling behind. My aim is to make lessons relaxed, clear and encouraging, while explaining concepts in a way that makes sense to each individual student. I’m patient and happy to approach a problem in different ways until we find an explanation that works for the student.

I aim to tutor Primary School and Junior Cycle/Junior Cert Mathematics as I progress through my own studies, and I offer both online and in-person lessons. Whether you’re looking for regular support with schoolwork, help with specific topics, or preparation for upcoming exams, I’m happy to work with you to identify what you need and build from there.

About the lesson

I take a patient, supportive and personalised approach to tutoring mathematics. Taken from my own experience of studying mathematics and also helping others with it, I believe that students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind a solution rather than simply memorising formulas.

I adapt each lesson to the student’s individual level, learning style and areas of difficulty, using clear explanations, worked examples and plenty of guided practice. I also encourage students to ask questions and work through problems themselves, helping them build confidence and become more independent in Mathematics.

Lessons are typically 1 hour long, although I can be flexible depending on the student’s needs and age. Sessions can be held either online or in person.

I hold a Level 6 qualification in Mathematics and am currently progressing my studies towards an Honours Degree in Mathematics, with just one module remaining to complete my Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics.

I offer tutoring for primary school students and Junior Cycle/Junior Cert Mathematics students. Whether a student needs help understanding a particular topic, preparing for an exam, keeping up with classwork, or simply building their confidence in maths, I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where they can learn at their own pace.
