About Shaista
My entire adult life has revolved around my greatest passion – Mathematics and sharing my extensive knowledge in clear and easy-to-understand methods with students on their own education journey.
I believe in tailoring the learning material to complement the student’s most effective learning style and personality - watching my students understand and apply complex concepts and ultimately flourish is my pride and joy.
I have been a part-time advanced Maths tutor since 2003, with a period of teaching Maths, Latin and Chemistry at an independent school in 2010. I have been working as an Actuary in recent years, a role which involves communicating highly complex mathematical concepts in simple, accessible terms to clients. I have received continuous, outstanding feedback both as an Actuary and a tutor, with glowing recommendations from previous students, which I am happy to share.
I strive for excellence both in myself as a tutor and in my students, evidenced by my academic achievements, including:
- 2:1 Bachelors degree in Mathematics from the University of Warwick
- Grade A in both Further Maths and Latin AS-Level
- Grade A in Maths, Biology & Chemistry at A-Level
- 8A*s and 1A at GCSE
- Passing several professional actuarial exams
My proudest academic achievements include attaining 100% in several AS-Level modules including Pure Maths and Mechanics, and above 90% in all Maths A-level modules.
My expertise is in Pure Maths and advanced Statistics.
I am highly dedicated to each and every student that I am given the privilege to teach, and will do my utmost best to teach, motivate, encourage, listen and support each on their own unique academic journey.
