About Charlie
My passion for mathematics began with discovering the beauty of patterns, problem-solving, and logical thinking. This inspired me to pursue an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I studied algebra, geometry, statistics, and modeling. Over 12 years of teaching, I have guided students across levels—from elementary school math through middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math—helping them build both analytical skills and confidence. I teach with patience, clarity, and adaptability, using visual aids, real-life examples, and structured explanations to make abstract concepts tangible. I encourage curiosity, independent problem-solving, and logical thinking, fostering a supportive learning environment that empowers students to excel. Outside teaching, I engage with educational research, advanced mathematical strategies, and innovative problem-solving techniques. Integrating these insights into lessons ensures learners acquire relevant skills and a deeper appreciation for mathematics. Mathematics becomes accessible when students understand the reasoning behind concepts rather than rote memorization. I begin lessons by strengthening elementary school math skills, including arithmetic, number patterns, and problem-solving using visual models. Learners then progress to middle school math, exploring fractions, percentages, ratios, introductory algebra, and geometry through step-by-step explanations and practical examples. By connecting math concepts to real-life situations, students develop both conceptual clarity and confidence.
Intermediate lessons focus on linear equations, functions, coordinate geometry, multi-step problem-solving, and analytical reasoning. I also integrate SAT math preparation, providing strategies for time management, problem interpretation, and logical thinking. Students practice applying concepts to unfamiliar problems, enhancing both skill and confidence. Exercises emphasize reasoning, conceptual understanding, and structured approaches to problem-solving.
Advanced lessons cover higher-order algebra, geometric proofs, data interpretation, and mathematical modeling. Students are encouraged to evaluate multiple solution paths, justify reasoning, and connect abstract ideas to real-world applications.
