About Thanmaya

I am a friendly and dedicated Maths tutor who loves helping students feel confident and capable. I truly believe that everyone can do well in Maths with the right support, patience, and encouragement! I’ve been tutoring for two years, working with students of different abilities and personalities, and I always make sure my lessons are personalised, interactive, and relaxed. My approach is about creating a comfortable space where students aren’t afraid to make mistakes — because that’s how real learning happens. I also have younger brothers who I’ve helped with their schoolwork over the years, which has taught me how to explain things clearly and keep lessons engaging. Being in university, I’m not that much older than many of my students — and I’ve found that this really helps me connect with them, understand how to keep lessons fun and focused, and create a positive learning atmosphere. I’m a people-focused person and love seeing my students grow in both confidence and skill. My experience as an SM6 ambassador, where I led assemblies and worked one-to-one with students, strengthened my communication and empathy — qualities that shape every lesson I teach. Above all, I want my students to enjoy learning, feel proud of their progress, and realise just how capable they are. About the lesson

Hi, I’m Thanmaya! I’ve been tutoring Maths for two years, working with students of varying abilities across both primary and secondary school levels. My approach is all about personalisation — I tailor each lesson to suit the student’s individual learning style and pace. I make my sessions interactive and engaging, encouraging students to ask questions and really understand the “why” behind what they’re learning. I also provide homework and practice tasks to help reinforce what we cover in lessons. Each session usually lasts one hour, but I’m flexible — lessons can be extended depending on what the student and parents prefer. To make sure my teaching style is the right fit, I offer a free first lesson, giving the student a chance to get a feel for how I teach before starting properly. My main goal is to build confidence and help students reach their full potential, turning Maths into a subject they can feel proud of and even enjoy!
