About Jeong Taek
I am an experienced mathematics tutor with over 20 years of teaching experience in the UK, working with students from British and international schools.
I graduated from Seoul National University, Department of Computer Science and Statistics, and currently specialise in mathematics education, university admissions preparation, and mathematics resource writing.
I teach a wide range of courses and examinations, including:
- GCSE / IGCSE Mathematics
- A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics
- IB MYP / IB DP Mathematics
- SAT Math / AP Calculus
- AMC and Mathematics Olympiad preparation
- TMUA and STEP
I am also the founder of TMUA Master, a specialist online platform for TMUA preparation, and the author of TMUA Master: Paper 2 Logic & Reasoning.
My lessons focus on developing strong conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills, rather than simply memorising methods.

I specialise in **TMUA and STEP preparation**, helping ambitious students develop the advanced problem-solving skills needed for competitive university admissions.
My teaching approach focuses on deep understanding, logical thinking, and problem-solving rather than memorising standard methods. I guide students to analyse unfamiliar problems, develop effective strategies, and build confidence through structured practice.

Lessons are typically **60–120 minutes**, depending on the student's needs and preparation stage. I teach mainly online using an interactive digital whiteboard, providing an engaging and effective learning environment.
My lessons are suitable for motivated students aged approximately **15–18** who are preparing for advanced mathematics examinations, university admissions tests, or aiming for top grades.

Details
My standard rate is US$70 per hour for 1-to-1 online mathematics tuition.
The rate applies to most school-level and examination preparation, including SAT Math, AP Calculus, IB, IGCSE and A-Level Mathematics.
For more specialised university admissions preparation such as TMUA, STEP, advanced Olympiad training or Further Mathematics, rates may vary depending on the student's level and requirements.
Lessons are conducted online and are tailored to each student's curriculum, current level and goals.
