Hello!
My name is Humaira. I'm an online mathematics tutor with a Master's degree in Mathematics and over five years of experience helping students worldwide, from primary school through to university level, in both one-to-one and group sessions.
My teaching style is built on patience, clarity and adaptability. I want each student not only to improve their grades, but to build a genuine understanding of the subject — and, ideally, to stop dreading it.

Hello!
I'm Humaira, a mathematics tutor with over five years of experience teaching online, and currently a PhD researcher in engineering at the University of Bradford.
My lessons are interactive, not lectures. I work problems out live on a digital writing pad so you see every step as it happens, and if you have a pad of your own we can solve questions together on the same screen. I've found this makes an enormous difference online — students stay engaged because they're doing the maths, not watching it.
My approach is simple: I find the exact point where a topic stops making sense, and we fix it there. Most students who struggle with algebra aren't struggling with algebra — they're struggling with something from two years earlier that never got resolved. I ask questions rather than giving answers, so you build methods you can actually reproduce under exam pressure.
For exam students, I place heavy emphasis on technique: reading questions carefully, setting out working so every available mark is awarded, recognising which method a question is really asking for, and pacing yourself across a paper. I use past papers and mark them the way an examiner would.
What I teach:
- Primary (KS1–KS2): arithmetic, fractions, measurement, shape, problem solving
- Secondary (KS3): pre-algebra, ratio and proportion, geometry, data handling
- GCSE: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, probability, number
- A-Level: pure maths, calculus, further algebra, statistics, mechanics basics
- University: advanced calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, real analysis, abstract algebra
Lessons typically run 60 minutes, though I'm happy to do 90 for A-Level and university students where we need the extra time. I teach in English and Urdu, and I'm flexible across time zones for international students.
Whether you're aiming for a grade 4 or a grade 9, a first-year linear algebra module or your first set of times tables — we'll work out a plan and get there. I'm patient, and nobody has ever been made to feel silly in one of my lessons for asking the same question twice.
