About Quentin

I have now tutored across many subjects including English, Maths, Religious Studies, Physics, and History for over 2 years. I have helped pupils progress from a predicted grade 4 to achieving a grade 8, and have helped students achieve grade 7's in their IB exams. What I enjoy about tutoring is fundamentally helping other people reach their full potential, which I strongly believe is possible for anyone and everyone with the right mindset and support.

My qualifications are as follows:

- Predicted First Class Degree in English Language and Literature at University College London (UCL). Achieved the Campbell Clarke I Prize for the best overall performance in exams (2024), and over 4 commendations for outstanding academic performance.
- 43 points in International Baccalaureate (IB) with 4 HL subjects. 7776 HL in Maths AA, History, Philosophy, and English Literature. 76 in SL Physics and Mandarin Chinese. A in Extended Essay in English Literature.
- Finalist in NCH Essay Competition in English Literature
- GCSE: Grade 9's in English Language, English Literature, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Religious Studies, Mandarin Chinese, and French.
- A in OCR FMSQ Additional Mathematics
- Passed DELF C1 Qualification in French.

About the lesson

By combining theory and practice in whiteboard-led, interactive lessons, I aim to propel students by enhancing a deeper knowledge of mathematical theory and by putting into practice during lesson-time and in homework. I will often spend half the lesson teaching the relevant theory with detailed examples, and collaboratively work with my pupil to solve exam-like questions in the second half.

I achieved a grade 7 in IB AA HL Mathematics, a grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics, an A in FMSQ Additional Mathematics, and the Bronze price in the UKMT Senior Mathematics Challenge.

I have recently tutored IB AA SL Mathematics for a few months, helping my pupil complete their Maths IA. I have also 2 years of general tutoring experience in other subjects.

My lessons are typically 1h long.

I can teach from any level and age up to A-Level/ IB HL .
