About Ellen
I am a 20-year-old student and aspiring teacher - throughout school I had incredible teachers that pushed me on to achieve A*AAA at A-level and go on to my dream university. I have taken on many jobs at Uni, and have found all don’t compare to teaching a child to achieve their dreams, and as such I’m starting on the path to become a teacher after my mathematics and physics degree. I have loved working with children in every walk of life - I used to teach young children to swim whilst I was a competitive swimmer myself and have aided younger children in both sports and academics within school. I’m chatty and friendly but understand the importance of hard work and resilience! Let me know if you think I’m a good match for you!

I like to tailor my lessons in accordance with the student - I think that mathematical subjects have to be taught slightly differently depending on an individual. I have had students who learn predominantly from a single demonstration and then plenty of practice questions. I have conversely had students who learn more from being shown an hour of explanation, followed by some practice to consolidate the knowledge. In either case, 1-3 hours per week is enough for me to provide the explanation needed to aid any student alongside their studies and send them away with practice material to do over the following week.
