About Maverick
My name is Maverick Hunter, and I've been singing in bars, clubs, and studios for over 12 years. I've blown out my voice, recovered it, learned bad techniques, and unlearned them. For the last 5 years, I've taught voice to people who were told they "can't sing" because their voice isn't smooth or pretty. I've helped gruff rock singers find control without losing their edge, shy folk singers learn to project with confidence, and country vocalists add authentic twang and emotion. My students trust me because I don't try to change who they are. I've been told my own voice is "too rough" more times than I can count. I leaned into it. So will you. With me, you won't learn to sound like anyone else. You'll learn to sound like you — stronger, freer, and more in control than ever. Let's make some noise.

Hi, I'm Maverick Hunter. I've coached singers for 5 years, and I specialize in voices that don't fit the "pretty" mold. If you've been told you're too loud, too rough, too nasal, or too weird — good. That's your sound. We protect it. My lessons focus on rock, blues, country, and folk — styles where character matters more than perfection. We'll work on breath support so you don't strain, finding your chest voice and mixed voice, adding controlled grit without hurting yourself, and phrasing that sounds honest, not performative. I teach microphone technique for live gigs, how to project without screaming, and how to recover when you crack on stage (it happens to everyone). I don't use operatic exercises or tell you to sing "more classically." You're not an opera singer. You're a rock, blues, or country singer. Let's make you a better one.
