  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I developed an interest in Fundamentals of Accounting and Business Studies during my college life, I found greatness fondness in these subjects as my teachers helped me develop the core concepts and made these subjects really enjoyable rather than just a burden. My passion for sharing knowledge and helping others learn led me to explore private tutoring as a way to engage with students on a more personalized level and make a positive impact on their academic journeys.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

Fundamentals of Accounting and Business Studies captivates me because it offers a deep dive into the core of every organization - its finances and operations. In accounting, I'm intrigued by decoding financial statements, which unveil a company's financial story. Meanwhile, in Business Studies, I enjoy exploring management strategies, marketing tactics, and operational intricacies. Teaching these subjects allows me to empower students with practical knowledge directly applicable to their future careers, making every class rewarding.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes, I was fortunate to have teachers like, Dr. Bushra Ghufran and Mr. Anjum Maqsood as a role model during my academic journey. Their passion for teaching and dedication to their students left a lasting impression on me. They not only imparted knowledge but also instilled a love for learning and a sense of curiosity that continues to inspire me in my own teaching journey.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

In my opinion, the qualities required to be a good tutor for subjects like these include patience, clarity in explanations, adaptability in teaching methods, and the ability to break down complex concepts into digestible parts. Additionally, they should provide ample opportunities for practice and offer constructive feedback to enhance understanding and skill development and should be able to tailor their teaching approach to meet the unique needs of each student and create a supportive learning environment.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

During my time teaching O' Levels' Accounting, I organized an interactive class project aimed at engaging students in the accounting cycle. We transformed our classroom into a mini bakery for a week-long simulation.

Each student was assigned a role, whether it was managing inventory, handling sales, or keeping track of expenses. Throughout the week, they recorded every transaction meticulously using primary books like cash books, sales journals, and purchase registers.

At the end of each day, we gathered to reconcile accounts, ensuring that every entry followed the principles of double-entry bookkeeping. We discussed how each transaction impacted different accounts and practiced journalizing and posting entries accordingly.

As the week progressed, students became more adept at applying accounting concepts in a real-world context. They saw firsthand how transactions flowed through the accounting cycle, from recording in primary books to preparing financial statements like income statements and balance sheets.

The hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of accounting principles but also fostered teamwork and critical thinking skills. It was immensely gratifying to see the students actively engaged and excited about learning, demonstrating the power of experiential learning in mastering complex subjects.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

In teaching accounting, one persistent challenge is making theoretical concepts practical for students. Accounting involves complex calculations and technical terms, which can overwhelm students. Keeping them engaged and motivated in what some see as a dry subject is also tough. Moreover, staying updated with the latest accounting standards is crucial but time-consuming. Despite these challenges, seeing students grasp accounting's complexities is rewarding.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

My passion lies in helping students who struggle with accounting and business concepts. Seeing their confusion transform into clarity is incredibly fulfilling. I create a supportive environment where questions are encouraged, fostering curiosity and resilience in my students.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P)?

What makes me a Superprof is the satisfaction and success of my students. I pride myself on implementing effective teaching methods that resonate with each individual's learning style. By adapting my approach to cater to their needs, I ensure that every student feels supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

Over time, I've received positive feedback from students who have found my methods engaging, effective, and conducive to their academic growth. Their satisfaction is a testament to my commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Moreover, I continually seek feedback from my students to refine and improve my teaching methods further. By prioritizing their satisfaction and success, I strive to maintain my reputation as a Superprof who goes above and beyond to ensure every student's educational journey is a rewarding and fulfilling experience.
