About Isabella
Hi there! I'm Isabella, a recent McGill University graduate. I have tutored math, science, and social sciences for over 5 years.
In university, I studied environmental science, which is an incredibly relevant discipline that bridges the social sciences with the 'hard' sciences. If you are interested, I can talk more about my studies during our lessons! I am also a painter, a baker, and an avid cycler.

My experience as a tutor has been primarily with youth with learning or cognitive disabilities. Thus, I try to make my lessons as accessible as possible for all students. I use a range of teaching techniques, often employing methods that encourage visual learning.
I begin each lesson by reviewing the previous lesson's material to encourage the student to create conceptual connections and to activate their long-term memory. We will then look at the material the student brought to the session, beginning with simple concepts and then delving into complex material and word questions. I will finish the session with a small, no-pressure quiz as a review.
My lessons are for students from grades 6 to 11.
