About Carol
I've tutored for the past 7 years. I love to help people with their math or computer science problems. I'm quite warm and friendly (I know getting help for tutoring can be very scary, but we're in this together). I'm currently a CSUS tutor as McGill.

I know math and/or computer science can be very hard. I definitely have struggled with math in my lifetime.
I'm here to meet weekly or more than weekly and go through problems with you as well as cheer you on.

I've known Carol for years and I'm thrilled to recommend her as a Superprof teacher. Her teaching style is top-notch - a mix of expertise, patience, and genuine passion. She has a knack for breaking down tough concepts and boosting confidence. Her friendly approach makes students feel at ease, creating a great learning environment!
Carol and I first met in college in our Calculus 1 class. Her warm energy, humour, and kind generosity in helping our classmates understand our math lessons is what first drew me to her. She used to sit at the very front of the class, and I at the very back. I admired very much her attentiveness, passion, and curiosity towards the subject, and it is these very elements (as well as her devotion to becoming my friend) that carried us through our first Calculus 1 project together. When I was lost and didn't know how to move forward in the project we were working on together, Carol was there by my side, guiding me through the theory with patience and a sparkle in her eye that really shone through to her interest in cosine functions and theorems. It was in these moments working on the project together that I was able to understand much more clearly a subject that I was honestly struggling with. Six years later and not only are Carol and I best friends, but I am also someone who understands Calculus in large part due to her help. Now, Carol has been so kind to offer her support to my brother who is entering his first year of university and studying many of the same math classes that Carol had taken. You will also find Carol on our university campus offering support to students at the math help desk. On weekends, you will find Carol taking extra courses related to math and computer science (because she loves to expand her knowledge), reading books, writing poetry, singing and dancing, and making art. To be Carol's friend is what it means to be provided with constant laughs, hugs, warmth, and kindness, and to be Carol's tutee is what it means to finally understand math in a way that makes sense!!! Carol is here to hold your hand virtually while you tackle a challenging subject together in a way that makes you realize it isn't so scary after all. She will also provide you with many jokes along the way because humour and lightness in life are important. She will shine light on the parts of you that are wonderful and to be proud of, she will encourage you, and she will be an inspiring light along your journey with math. Math doesn't have to be so scary when you have Carol by your side! :)
