About Chaz
Hello! My name is Chaz Russo, and I hope to be your tutor!
I have a year of in-class and virtual teaching experience, and another year of online tutoring experience. I have a degree in mechanical engineering, so I typically tutor math and science based subjects, but I also have a teaching certificate in ESL, and can help with a wide variety of subject material.
I currently work as a full-stack developer for a startup company based out of San Diego, CA, so I can also help tutor students learning programming languages, specifically: python, HTML, and CSS.
In my free time, I love to rock climb, play video games, and perform stand-up comedy!

I take a problem-based learning approach to teaching. Meaning that I will help guide students to the answers themselves, as opposed to giving answers and having them memorize formulas.
This approach has proven to help students retain information, be more versatile with their subject material, and feel more comfortable working through difficult/ multi-step problems.
I take this approach because I feel that problem solving is the most important skill in the world, and can be utilized in all aspects of life. My goal is to teach students to navigate through difficult problems and situations.
I am most comfortable teaching middle-school, high-school, and college students. Here is a list of the subjects I can help your student with: Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Physics, Python programming language, HTML, CSS, and even ESL
