About Layth
I am a mechanical engineering graduate from the University of Connecticut with years tutoring my fellow students. I am patient and dedicated to my students, I believe that every student can succeed when complex material is explained clearly and taught at the right pace.
I tailor each lesson to the student's individual goals, course requirements, and learning method. Whether the student needs help preparing for an exam, completing challenging homework, or finally understanding a difficult concept, I will provide structured and supportive instruction.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to give them the knowledge and confidence they need to approach future academic challenges independently.

• Teaching Methods: I use a concept-first, student-centered approach. Rather than simply giving students formulas or answers, I focus on helping them understand why something works and how to apply it.
• My style: The goal of my lessons is to make sure the student can solve problems on their own by pulling from a deeper understanding of the topic. I focus on finding out the specific needs of the student and tailoring the lessons to ensure long-term growth that will carry on to future courses and exams
• Lesson Plan: A typical session is flexible and adapted to the student's needs, but generally follows this structure:
1. Quick Check — Review what the student has been working on, identify challenges, and establish goals for the session.
2. Concept Review — Revisit important ideas using explanations, examples, visuals, or questions.
3. Guided Practice — Work through problems together while I model effective problem-solving strategies.
4. Independent Practice — The student solves problems independently while I provide guidance and feedback when needed.
5. Wrap-Up — Review the main takeaways, answer remaining questions, and identify what to work on next.
• Who my lessons are for: I tutor in mathematics, physics, engineering, and related STEM subjects. I teach from middle school up to high school on homework assistance, exam preparation, concept review, and long-term academic support.
