Teaching Methodology and Techniques:
As tutor in Mathematics and Japanese, my approach to teaching is centered around creating a personalized and engaging learning experience for each of my students. I firmly believe that effective tutoring goes beyond simply imparting knowledge; it involves understanding the unique learning styles and needs of each individual student.
For Mathematics, I employ a combination of conceptual and practical teaching methods. I begin by ensuring that the student has a solid foundation in the core mathematical concepts, using visual aids, interactive demonstrations, and real-world examples to enhance their understanding. This is followed by the application of these concepts through a variety of practice problems, ranging in difficulty to challenge the student and build their problem-solving skills.
In my Japanese language tutoring, I focus on developing a well-rounded proficiency in the language, encompassing speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I utilize a communicative approach, encouraging students to engage in conversational practice and immersing them in authentic Japanese contexts. Additionally, I incorporate elements of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural awareness to provide a comprehensive learning experience.
Lesson Structure and Duration:
Typically, each tutoring session lasts between 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the needs and attention span of the student. I structure the lesson to include a combination of direct instruction, guided practice, and independent work. This allows for the gradual development of the student's skills and understanding, with ample opportunities for them to apply what they have learned.
Qualifications and Experience:
With a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university in Japan and a PGDT (Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching) from Open University Malaysia, I possess a strong academic foundation and formal teaching qualifications. Additionally, I have gained practical experience as a practicum teacher, where I spent 12 weeks teaching at a primary school, honing my skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement.
Target Audience:
My tutoring services are open to students aged 7 to 16 years old, with a particular focus on those preparing for the SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) examination.
I am excited to work with students who are passionate about Mathematics and Japanese, and I am committed to guiding them towards academic success and a deeper appreciation for these subjects.
