About Boris
Hi, I'm Boris, a Mechanical Engineering (Honors) graduate from the University of Queensland. My academic background gave me a deep, practical understanding of mathematics and physics, which I have applied in real engineering projects including a fully commissioned control system built for Thiess Mining operations.
I tutor math and physics for primary school students through to Year 12 and first year university, covering QCE, HSC, ATAR, and IB curricula. I have worked with students who started out struggling and left feeling genuinely confident in the subject.
I am fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, so I am also happy to tutor students who are more comfortable learning in Chinese.
I take every session seriously and come fully prepared. If you are looking for a tutor who is patient, reliable, and genuinely invested in your progress, I would love to help.

My approach to tutoring is all about making maths and physics click for every student, no matter where they’re starting from. I focus on building real understanding rather than just memorising formulas, so lessons feel clear, logical and even a bit fun.
I adapt everything to the student in front of me—some need lots of visual explanations, others prefer step-by-step worked examples, and some thrive on real-world applications.
My techniques and teaching methodology centre on three things: clear explanations, active practice, and instant feedback. I break every topic into bite-sized chunks, use diagrams and simple analogies, then move straight into guided problems so students see the method in action right away. I encourage questions at any time and always show the “why” behind each step.
A typical lesson runs for 60 minutes. That gives us time to review last week’s work, tackle new material, do plenty of practice together, and finish with a quick summary of what to focus on next. For exam crunch time or tricky topics I’m happy to run 90-120 minute sessions.
I’m Boris, with a strong academic background in physics and mathematics. I’ve worked with students who went from struggling to confident.
My lessons are for everyone—primary school kids just starting out, high-school students tackling Year 10–12 maths and physics (including IB, ATAR, QCE or HSC)
