About Rosa

Hello, I’m Rosa! I graduated in Mechanical Engineering, tutored groups of Engineering Students and mentored college students in their academics and Rocketry.

Having personally navigated the struggles of understanding abstract engineering material, I know how it feels to be lost and unsure of how to translate theory into practice. Over time, I discovered my own learning styles and strategies, which allowed me to excel as an engineering designer and communicate complex concepts clearly.

As a tutor, I focus on adapting my approach to each student, ensuring they not only understand the material but also gain confidence in their abilities. My goal is to inspire hope, build skills, and foster independent learning, helping students succeed academically while truly grasping the concepts that once felt daunting.

About the lesson

Having been a STEM student myself, I know how overwhelming coursework can feel when concepts don’t click, I make it my priority to ensure students understand the concepts and feel confident in their own skills.

I structure sessions around what each student needs most. For example, if you’re preparing for quizzes, we’ll focus on reviewing lectures, homework, and practice problems in the areas that feel weakest. For exam preparation, I guide our sessions using the syllabus and emphasize key topics with examples from lectures, homework, and past assessments. I also like to include practical, real-world examples to make complex problems more approachable.

I am flexible with scheduling and strive to make sessions convenient, whether online or in-person. My goal is to support your academic growth while making learning engaging and effective.

Perfect! Rosa helped our daughter to study for a final exam in Physics. My daughter waited until the last moment to let us know that she was struggling, but Rosa came to the rescue, scheduling an appointment right away, and even spent extra time to make sure she was really understanding the formulas. What we appreciated most was how patient and kind she was, while also really having the gift of being able to make complicated concepts simple and accessible for our daughter. We couldn't be happier, and would highly recommend her to anyone needing that extra push. What an excellent tutor, and human being. Will definitely use her services again!

She walks through problems step-by-step, explains why you’re doing each step (not just throwing formulas at you), and then has you try it on your own so you really learn it. I was feeling pretty stuck and overwhelmed before, but after a few sessions I felt way more confident and a lot more prepared.
