About Amar
My name is Amar and I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate with a strong mathematical background. One of the reasons I want to tutor maths is because of my strong enthusiasm for the subject and I would like to pass on that enthusiasm to potential students and develop their understanding of the subject. I have a teenage sister who I often help with her Maths and I find it rewarding helping her reach her fullest potential. Maths is often considered a difficult and challenging subject; my goal is to make it more accessible to people that it does not come as easy to.

My method of teaching can vary depending on the student; I like to learn the student's learning style so I can tailor my lessons in a way they would be more receptive to. This could be auditory (e.g. discussions) or visually (e.g. charts and graphs) etc. I like to use the exam board's specification as a checklist for how I structure my lessons to ensure I cover all the content to ensure exam success. I also like to use examiner reports as a tool to see how previous cohorts performed and common mistakes students made so I can go over these in sessions and how to avoid common mistakes. I often help my 14-year-old sister with her Maths homework and I did some tutoring on the side while I was at university studying Mechanical Engineering. My sessions would be approximately an hour long for students preparing for GCSE and A Level Maths exams.
