I was excited to learn that I would assist in working with grade school students, to improve their understanding of mathematical foundations. Specifically, I am excited by Mathnasium’s individualized approach towards each student, and I hope to be a part of your team and contribute to your meaningful work. As a former tutor, and currently eager student pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, I am confident in my ability to understand and relay difficult math concepts in a personalized manner that appreciates individual struggles and difficulties.
I have over three years of experience in teaching students from fourth to eighth grade. Particularly, in my tutoring position at the Cerritos Library, I instructed students in learning HTML5 and CSS. Moreover, my position at Whitney High School required that I teach Algebra II to middle-school students. I am confident in my ability to transfer the skills and experience I have gained from these previous positions in order to be successful at Mathnasium.
I am comfortable in teaching advanced math, including, but not limited to: AP Calculus AB, Pre-Calculus, Honors Physics, Algebra 2, and Geometry. I approach my students with patience, empathy, and understanding, and tutor each child with a unique, and individualized method. I understand the parents' role in their child's success, and make it a point to regularly discuss progress and implement feedback.
Most recently, I was accepted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, an honors organization that recognizes and elevates high-achieving students, for my 3.75 GPA in my first semester at college. Apart from my academic accomplishments, I have also competed nationally in the First Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics in Houston, and the Team American Rocketry Challenge (TARC) in Washington D.C.
