About Charles
I'm an 18-year-old Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Exeter with a genuine passion for Maths, Physics and understanding how the world works.
I've always enjoyed problem-solving and figuring out not just how something works, but why it works. This curiosity is a big part of what led me to study engineering at university.
Having recently completed my own GCSEs and A-levels, I know firsthand how challenging certain subjects can be, particularly when you're struggling to understand something that seems to come naturally to everyone else.
One of the reasons I love to tutor is to help students overcome those frustrations and realise that Maths and Physics don't have to be intimidating.
I believe being a younger tutor can actually be an advantage. I can relate to the pressures students face today, while offering a friendly and supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions.
Although I'm just starting out as a tutor, I'm enthusiastic, patient and committed to preparing thoroughly for each lesson and helping students make progress at their own pace.

Hi! I'm a first-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Exeter, offering online GCSE Maths and Physics tutoring.
Having recently completed my own GCSEs and A-levels, I understand how frustrating it can be when a topic just doesn't seem to make sense, especially when exams are approaching!
My approach is to keep lessons relaxed, friendly and interactive. Rather than simply giving students answers or asking them to memorise formulae, I want to help them understand why things work the way they do. I believe that once you understand the reasoning behind something, it becomes much easier to remember and apply.
Lessons will typically last around an hour, although I'm happy to adapt this depending on individual needs. We can work through difficult topics, practise exam questions, revisit the basics or focus on building confidence ahead of exams.
Although I'm new to tutoring, I've recently achieved B grades in A-level Maths and Physics and am now continuing to develop my knowledge through my engineering degree.
Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace. No question is a silly question!
