About Matt
I’m currently a Mechanical Engineering student at Queen’s University and with a 3.5 GPA and a 96% average in high school, I hold a strong background in math and science. Through my studies, I’ve developed solid problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of the concepts that students often find challenging.
In addition to academics, I’m also a competitive athlete, which has helped me build discipline, time management, and strong communication skills. I bring that same mindset into tutoring by being reliable, patient, and focused on helping students improve over time.
I understand what it’s like to be a student learning these subjects, so I aim to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. My goal is not just to help students get the right answers, but to help them feel more confident and independent in their learning.

I take a step-by-step approach to tutoring, focusing on helping students truly understand concepts rather than just memorizing answers. I break down difficult topics in math and science into simple, clear explanations and adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs and pace.
A typical lesson involves reviewing homework or class material, identifying areas of confusion, and working through problems together until the student feels confident. I also focus on building problem-solving skills and effective study habits that students can use independently.
After each session, I provide organized notes with explanations so students can review what we covered and continue improving on their own.
My lessons are designed for any students from K-12 who want to improve their grades, prepare for tests, or strengthen their understanding of key concepts. I aim to create a supportive and relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
