About Yousufu
Hiya! I'm a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Nottingham, heading into my placement year after completing my 2nd year of university. I've done some tutoring before and genuinely enjoyed it, there's something really rewarding about helping a student go from "I don't get this" to solving a problem on their own.
My approach is to ask questions rather than just give answers. I'll guide students through problems with prompts and trivia-style questions that push them to think for themselves, building the kind of critical thinking that pays off in exams. Available weekends (Saturday & Sunday) — mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I'm flexible with scheduling to suit the student's routine.

Hiya! I offer online GCSE/secondary/primary Maths tutoring to students who wants help with the topics they find trickiest, whether that's algebra, statistics, trigonometry, or anything else on the syllabus.
I achieved an A in IGCSE Maths and an A* in A-Level Maths, and I use that subject knowledge daily as an engineering student.
Lessons run on Google Meet and typically last 2 hrs (or 1 hr), depending on what you need. I'm flexible in how I teach: we can work through your homework together, focus on specific topics where you're stuck, go through past paper questions, or a mix of all three.
Student not understanding after half an hour?
I'd step back and explain the topic from a different angle using a real-world example, a visual diagram or breaking it into smaller steps. Sometimes the issue isn't the topic itself but a gap in a foundation concept, so I'd check their understanding of the basics before building back up.
How do I keep lessons engaging?
I like to connect topics to things the student are passionate about, if they're into football, I can use match stats for percentages or ratios. I also mix up the format with quick challenges, mini-quizzes, or real-life problem solving rather than just working through textbook questions. Keeping the energy conversational and friendly rather than lecture-style makes a big difference in keeping students engaged and willing to ask questions.
Lessons are aimed at all ages from GCSE-level students (Years 10 and 11) and below. I'm also happy to help younger students preparing ahead!
